Critical Mass introduces the world’s first true micro reference system: a close-coupled studio monitor
package engineered to deliver the visceral impact, scale, and authority of a far larger room system, but in
a form factor small enough to sit on a desk and disappear into a modern control space.

Built around the Critical Mass 4ULH 4-inch midbass drivers, each monitor is capable of handling over 400
watts continuous and is paired with a purpose-matched 35 mm true-silk dome ultra-high-frequency driver
extending well beyond 45 kHz. This creates a miniature monitor system with beyond exceptional transient
speed, and astonishing clarity from the lowest octaves through the ultrasonic range. The system’s low end
is anchored by a matched Kevlar-carbon fiber amplified subwoofer, tuned specifically for close-coupled
studio use. With precise front-panel level control, the sub integrates seamlessly with the monitors and
delivers the foundation needed for full-spectrum playback in a compact desktop footprint. The Critical Mass
mini tube preamplifier and matching mini stereo amplifier complete the package, combining high-current
authority with the musical warmth and dimensionality of a perfectly matched tube preamp stage.

The result is the ultimate micro reference system, with the refinement, speed, and scale expected from
elite studio monitoring but far better.

At $249,999, this system is a true reference instrument — a purpose-built monitoring solution that
compresses the performance ambitions of an enormous studio into a micro studio, more immediate, and
more controllable listening environment. This reflects not only the drivers, amplification, and subwoofer
architecture, but the value of what it replaces: vast room footprint, complex acoustic construction,
large-format mains, extensive power, and the physical scale normally required to reproduce this level of
performance.
